Albacete Unveils a 2026 Bullfighting Fair Set to Be One of the Season’s Highlights

The 2026 Albacete Bullfighting Fair has unveiled a ten-event season ticket package featuring leading matadors, rising stars and some of Spain’s most prestigious fighting bull breeders.

The city of Albacete has officially revealed the full programme for its 2026 Bullfighting Fair. The historic Teatro Circo hosted the presentation of a festival that is once again expected to place the Castilian-La Mancha capital among the most important destinations on Spain’s bullfighting calendar throughout September.

The season ticket package will include ten events in total: seven bullfights, two picador-supported novice bullfights (novilladas con picadores) and one rejones event featuring horseback bullfighting. The programme combines established stars, current leading performers and promising young talents looking to make their mark on the major fair circuit.

The announcement has generated considerable excitement among fans, not only because of the quality of the matadors involved but also due to the wide variety of breeding farms selected for the fair. The organisers have once again sought a balance between renowned cattle breeders and bloodlines that hold particular interest for dedicated aficionados.

A Fair Featuring Leading Figures and Rising Stars

Among the headline attractions are appearances by Morante de la Puebla, Roca Rey, Alejandro Talavante, Sebastián Castella, Daniel Luque, Emilio de Justo, Tomás Rufo or Paco Ureña, all of whom are set to take part in some of the most anticipated combinations of the season.

Alongside these established names, the programme also provides opportunities for matadors who have enjoyed significant success in Spain’s major bullrings in recent seasons, as well as younger toreros aiming to establish themselves at the highest level.

The two novice bullfights will also play an important role within the fair, offering a prestigious platform for some of the most promising young bullfighters currently emerging on the scene.

Prestigious Breeding Farms for a Landmark Fair

The livestock section of the programme features an impressive variety of bloodlines and breeders. Farms such as Daniel Ruiz, Domingo Hernández, Victoriano del Río, Jandilla, La Quinta or Conde de Mayalde will all be represented during the fair.

Particular attention is expected to focus on the closing bullfight, which will feature bulls from several highly respected breeders, including Miura, Fuente Ymbro, Baltasar Ibán, Pedraza de Yeltes, Samuel Flores, Herederos de Celestino Cuadri among others.

This diversity aims to offer different styles, challenges and emotions throughout a fair that continues to place the fighting bull at the heart of the spectacle.
